Escalation League

Army Escalation Schedule

Weeks 1-3: 500 Point Army

Weeks 4-6: 1,000 Point Army

Weeks 7-9: 1,500 Point Army

Weeks 10-12: 2,000 Point Army

Players may modify their army lists between escalation stages.

All armies must remain within the same faction for the duration of the league.

League Overview

Whether you're a veteran commander or just starting your first army, this league is designed to help players build, paint, and battle their way from a small strike force to a fully realized 2,000-point army.

Participants will begin with a 500-point army and expand their forces throughout the league, earning points for both hobby progress and battlefield participation.

The league emphasizes community, hobby achievement, and regular gameplay while encouraging players to complete a fully painted army by the end of the season.

Code of Conduct

  • Be respectful and welcoming.

  • Encourage new players.

  • Resolve rules disputes respectfully.

  • Maintain a positive gaming environment.

  • Unsportsmanlike conduct may result in point penalties or removal from the league.

The purpose of this league is to build armies, improve hobby skills, make new friends, and grow the Warhammer 40,000 community at The Guildhouse.

Army Requirements

  • Armies must follow current Warhammer 40,000 army construction rules.

  • Armies must remain in the same faction throughout the league.

  • Players may alter army lists between escalation periods.

  • New units must be added according to the escalation schedule.

  • Proxies must be approved by league organizers.

  • Legends units require organizer approval.

League Scoring

Players may earn up to:

  • 500 Hobby Points

  • 500 Battle Points

Maximum League Score: 1,000 Points

Battle Points (Maximum 500)

The primary goal is participation and community building.

League Games

Play a League Game: 20 Battle Points

Maximum of 20 League Games

Potential Battle Points: 400

Players may play league games during designated league nights (every other Thursday) or by scheduling games with other participants.

Battle Results

Win: 5 Battle Results Points

Draw: 3 Battle Results Points

Loss: 2 Battle Results Points

Maximum Battle Results Points: 100

Hobby Points (Maximum 500)

Players earn hobby points by building and painting their armies throughout the league.

Assembly Points

Build and Base a New Unit: 10 Hobby Points

Maximum: 100 Hobby Points

Battle Ready Standard

A unit painted to Battle Ready standard earns: 15 Additional Hobby Points per Unit

  • Minimum three colors

  • Based model

  • Tabletop-ready appearance

Maximum: 200 Hobby Points

Advanced Painting Bonus

Additional effort such as:

  • Edge highlights

  • Shading and washes

  • Transfers

  • Weathering

  • Display-quality details

10 Additional Hobby Points per Unit

Maximum: 100 Hobby Points

Character Model Bonus

Assemble and Paint a Character Model: 15 Hobby Points

Maximum: 60 Hobby Points

Centerpiece Model Bonus

Assemble and Paint a Vehicle, Monster, Dreadnought, or centerpiece model valued at 150+ army points: 25 Hobby Points

Maximum: 40 Hobby Points

Weekly Hobby & Community Challenges

Each week the league organizer may announce an optional challenge.

Examples:

  • Play a new opponent

  • Finish a squad

  • Paint a character

  • Play a narrative mission

  • Bring a fully painted army

  • Introduce a new player to the hobby

  • Participate in a painting night

Challenge Completion: 10 Bonus Points Each

Maximum Bonus Points: 50

Bonus points may not increase a player's score beyond the 1,000-point league maximum.

Reporting Results

For Battle Points, players must report:

  • Opponent

  • Army Size

  • Result

  • Date Played

For Hobby Points, players should submit:

  • Before photo

  • After photo

League organizers reserve the right to verify hobby progress.

Sportsmanship Awards

At the conclusion of the league, players will vote for the following. Players may not vote for themselves.

Best Opponent

Awarded to the player who consistently provides enjoyable games and promotes a positive community.

Best Painted Army

Awarded to the most impressive fully painted force.

Most Improved General

Awarded to the player who demonstrated the greatest growth during the league.

Hobby Hero

Awarded to the player who showed exceptional dedication to painting and hobby progress.

These awards are separate from overall league standings.

Final Rankings

Players are ranked by total points earned.

Prizing

Overall league prizing will be determined by the number of participants and will come in the form of store credit and/or comparable product.

Entry Fee & League Nights

League Nights will be every other Thursday Evening as per the calendar. League night attendance is NOT MANDATORY however, it is probably your best chance to meet up for scoring battles.

The League Entry fee will be $50.

The entry fee will be used to cover league prizing.

Additionally, any league participants will receive 15% off of GW product for their designated army faction.
